New Algebra Teacher or Just Need Some Help with the Beginning of the School Year?

Are you an algebra teacher gearing up for the new school year? Look no further! The Back-to-School Kit for Algebra Teachers is here to help you get off to a great start this school year. This comprehensive resource has been carefully crafted to help you create a dynamic learning environment and ensure your students excel in algebra.

Let's dive in and explore the incredible features of this must-have kit!

1). You definitely need a fun first day activity - I have created an activity that will work perfectly in your Algebra One classroom.

It's an escape room! This activity can be used digitally or can be printed. Either way it's super low prep - no expensive locks needed.

This escape room has 6 clues - here's an example of one of them.

I created it to be pretty low floor for students entering an Algebra One class. Students will review such topics as operations with integers and ratios and proportions. Students solve each clue which will reveal the combination to a digital lock. As they solve each clue and then enter the combination, they move onto the next lock. [Read more about this activity in my previous blog post here.]

2) Here's another activity you can do close to the beginning of the year - it's a Digital About Me Class Activity. Each student is assigned a slide in google slides using a template. Each student completes their own slide. Everyone can see all of the other slides and everyone gets to know each other a little better! Here's an example of the start of a slide about me!

3). I know one thing that always stresses me out - bulletin boards! This Sudoku bulletin board is a favorite in my classroom. Hang it up in your room or in the hallway. Let students work on it when they are finished with their other work or when they get to class early. Several Sudoku puzzles are included, but you can always google to get more puzzles! [Need even more bulletin board ideas? Check them out here.

  1. 4). If you need some other things to hang on your wall, try my Just for Fun Posters. There are 15 posters in this package - they are truly just for fun...hang them up one at a time or all at once. Your students will love them!

  2. Finally, the last four items can be used any time of year. Once you get things rolling in your classroom, this bundle can still be useful!

  3. 5) PreAlgebra Review - this packet will be useful if there are things your students need to review. There are a total of 30 pages in this workbook. Most pages have QR Codes on them so students can scan to check their work. Use a page at a time for all students or choose specific pages if some students need review on a specific topic.

6) Algebra Mazes - there are 8 mazes included in this bundle. These are printable mazes. They cover topics that range from September to May. You'll love having these available to pull out whenever you need them!

7) A to Z Emoji Puzzles - I have so many of these types of puzzles available in my store, but I think this set is my favorite. Each letter in the alphabet has its own puzzle. Here's an example of the "H" puzzle.

8) Digital Sticker Solving Equations - Finally, I'm throwing in one of my newest creations. When I used this puzzle with my class last spring, they loved getting the sticker rewards. If they get the problem right, a sticker appears!

  1. The Back-to-School Kit for Algebra Teachers provides an extensive array of resources to support your teaching journey. By using these resources, some of the stress that hits every teacher at the beginning of the year will be eased. Wouldn't it feel great to not have to design your own first day activity or come up with review pages?

This bundle is almost 50% off. It contains over $35 in value of items from my Teachers Pay Teachers Store, but is on sale for $19. This bundle is only available at this price for a limited time (September 4, 2024), so if you're interested, head on over to find out more and buy now!
